Drone scanning of timber stacks

At WoodTECH 2017 in Rotorua, TimberSmart joined Saito to showcase a new drone scanning technology that can be used in the mill or timber yard to collect packet data. The drone has the ability to travel up to the top stack and using the attached camera, photograph and collect information from labels or tags. This technology eliminates ladders or scissor lifts and allows staff to accurately stock take simply and safely. “This is phase one of an exciting new development” said John Lawrence, Trans-Tasman Business Manager – Sales, Saito.
